And if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the valley’s eagles parading overhead. For backpacking enthusiasts, the village is also at the center of several well-known hiking and mountain bike trails. And the list of outdoor activities doesn’t end there: thanks to the rock walls overlooking the Nive river, Itxassou is also home to a gliding center and several rock-climbing sites.
